A Democrat sides with Republicans on this Topic

This is reprehensible!

I am aware that some who read this may disagree with the issue of trans girls (or trans boys) playing in women's or girls' sports. I fully acknowledge that some of those who don't feel that transgender kids playing with girls is appropriate.

First of all my question is, what context of sports are they addressing? We - l mean boys and girls - played kickball during recess while l was in elementary school. Ditto dodgeball. How far do these anti-trans legislators want to go? Do they want to separate the boys and girls during recess time, leaving trans kids out? Do you see how unnecessary (and unrealistically ridiculous) this legislation is?

The aim of these legislations is based on politics. Far-right legislators in some states want to bring back conversion therapy, which l believe is facist and unbiblical, to protect children from a "sinful lifestyle" (The Federal government bans such practice and a bill was passed). They don't see trans kids as a human existence but as a "moral declension". When addressing the issue of banning trans kids, mainly conservative Republicans running for office, premise of their legislation when they speak at the podium is misconstrued. They want to protect children: perhaps protect trans children from sports bullies; or protect "straight" children from the "queer ones".

There are multiple "excuses" why these legislators want to pass these harmful legislations. The real CORE reason is getting the votes from their constituents  - to get elected or stay in office. It's about power and prestige. They never speak for all, only their constituents. However if their poltical base is majority conservative, then who gets left out of the equation? These kids and their progressive thinking parents.

We need to educate the public that gender is NOT cut-and-dry into two anatomical sexes. It is fluid, with people of all ages with different abilities, regardless of their sex.

This is not easy for everybody to swallow.

In professional and college sports, and in some cases high school and middle school, this issue is more divisive.

Can't we have co-ed teams? Let's start an all-gender sports league!
