From Global Warming to Global Overheating

In light of yesterday's heatwave, on July 19, 2022, which was devastating, people who question global warming may really need to redress their reasoning. In England and across Europe temperatutes reached unprecedented levels. The death toll in Great Britain was over 1,500 causualties as a result of temperatures climbed above 104°.

Across portions of the South, into the Midwest temperatures were in the triple digits. 112° was reported in Little Rock, Arkansas. Scientists say that the U.S. is expected to experience these summer mega-heatwaves more frequently.

I won't forget the heatwave here in Georgia in 2012. It official temperature broke the 1980 record of 105° by a degree. I worked as bike security, monitoring vehicles on a parking deck at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. I worked the top deck which was outdoors, exposed to the hot sun. Our supervisor gave us stern warnings regarding the heat and staff members were to hunker down in air-conditioned offices between twice-hourly bike sweeps and parking space counts.

Thankfully l took cover and did not suffer a heatstroke.

When reporters interviewed several climatologists around the country and asked what is really bringing these massive heatwaves they all attributed to the CO2 accumulation in the ozone layer, trapping the heat in the atmosphere rather than releasing it.

There will be water shortages in the days ahead. Water restrictions are already being enforced in Arizona, southern California and throughout the sunbelt. The power grids in those areas have reached their maximum capacity, thus possibly causing widespread black-outs. Hoover Dam near Los Vegas was damaged by an explosion in one of the transformers raising concerns about more extensive power shortages.

Here in Atlanta, Georgia I tend to stay indoors when it gets that hot, midday no biking or exercise. As much as l love going to the pool, being out when it's that Caliente is no fun.
