I first met Robert back in the spring of 1999. I had attended several bi-nature support groups with Barry and Sherry who co-facilitated at the First E building in the fall of 1998. Both were UU followers who strongly encouraged me to attend a Sunday Celebration of Life. I was a member of an LGBT affirming Christian Church and while l was curious, l had mixed feelings about attending a non-Christian church. I fully acknowledge that some of those who don't feel that transgender kids playing with girls is appropriate. First of all my question is, what context of sports are they addressing? We - l mean boys and girls - played kickball during recess while l was in elementary school. Ditto dodgeball. How far do these anti-trans legislators want to go? Do they want to separate the boys and girls during recess time, leaving trans kids out? Do you see how unnecessary (and unrealistically ridiculous) this legislation is?
